Pontiac Repair: knock sensor, grand prix gt, knock sensor

how do you remove bank 2 KS on a 99 grand prix gt 3.8 I've tried all sorts of tool an exhausted myself its a small area to get to any help is appreciate thanks

Hi Eddie:

You need a 7/8" deep well socket for 3/8" drive and a 3/8" Whobble extension to get up there to get the sensor loose. then you need to fish it out over the top of the tranmsission. This is NOT AN EASY TASK! The job sucks to do but the right socket and extension it the ket to getting it loose the second hardest part is fishing it out and the new one back in. A side note when you put the new one in do not over tighten it. You will strip the top off it and damage the new sensor and ONLY use an origianl equipment part! good luck :-)
