Pontiac Repair: Blower Motor, blower motor, restor

Question
I recently has an issue with my 2004 Grand Am heat/AC control levels not working on 1,2,3, and 4.  Level 5 worked fine.  I replaced the blower resistor only to have the same issue again a month later.  This time levels 4/5 work.  What are my next step to determine what the issue is.  Could it be a bad blower motor?

Answer
Hey Mitch:
a few things to look at. look at the connector on the restor to make sure none of the terminals show any sign of heat distress is so replace the connector. make sure there is no corrosion in the termionals same thing is so replace it. Did you use a GM OEM resistor? if not get one the part has been redesigned a few times. last on the list is the motor it's self it could be drawing too much amperage and it's cauing the resitor to fail but not all that common. usually it will blow a fuse if the draw is too high. good luck :-)
