Pontiac Repair: loud knocking sound when accelerating, sway bar link, grand prix 3

Question
Yesterday I was driving down a bumpy street and i hit a pot
hole and my front end of my 97 grand prix 3.8 se hit the
street hard. When i got on an even street i noticed this
knocking noise under my car. When I checked under it i
didn't see anything out of place or cracked. I then put my
car in reverse to see if i would hear the sound but i didn't
hear anything, only when driving forward. I put my car in
park and pressed on the gas and didn't hear anything either.
I need help before i get robbed by a mechanic!

well with our seeing it it's hard to say for sure what the deal is. I would geuss withet a lower control arm bushing pulled out of the control arm or possably it broke a sway bar link or the end of the front sway bar broke off. gain with out seeing it I can't say for surew what the noise is. good luck :)
