Pontiac Repair: enginelight, pontiac grand prix, gas cap

Hi,Tim I have a 2006 pontiac grand prix,my question has to do with the engine light,I bought this car in a auction and did'nt realize that they disconnected the engine light,how can I connect it back because when i went to inspected they said the engine light was disconnected.

the only way it could be disconnected is if they removed the bulb in the back of the cluster, you will need to remove the cluster and install a new bulb then  have the car scanned for codes and figure out why the light is coming on, i would bet its a gas cap setting the code
