Pontiac Repair: Engine exchange, electrical harnesses, chevy venture

Question
I was wondering if a 1999 Chevy Venture 3.4 engine will replace or fit into a 1999 Pontiac Grand Am? If it will bolt up, will the wiring be sufficient?

I understand that the 2000-01-02 models will to corresponding years??.... but wasn't sure on the 99 models.

Thank you in advance.

Answer
Hi Ed:

yes it should work as long as ther are both 3400 engiens with a VIN code of "E" you will have to swap over the plumbing and electrical harnesses from one engine to the other. the exhaust manifolds may be different and the coolant pipes for the heater are different as well but the basic engine is the same. To be 100% sure call a junk yard up and they have data bases with what engien will fit into what car/van etc.. I'm not a parts guy I just fix 'em But I have done engine swaps like what you are doing here before and it works but there are alot of pittle piece you have to swap and exchange to make it work.
