Pontiac Repair: 97 Grand Prix Electrical, fuse box, power locks

Question
I have 1997 Grand Prix SE with an electrical problem, the car will start and run, i also get all dash lights headlights and wipers, however the interior lights, door chime, power locks and power windows don't work. the car had an after market keyless remote that was wired in horribly which i have since removed and taped up all the splices, I've check the 2 grounds on either side for corrosion , the passenger side had some so i cleaned that up, but still no go. any help would be greatly appreciated,

Answer
Hi chris:

How about the radio does that work? I was thinking possably that the RAP retained accy power was not wroking when you mentioned the windows not working.. The radio is part of the RAP. that is controlled by the body computer it controls a relay behind the right side of the dash which in turn powers up part of the fuse box. That me be what's wrong here.. with the key in the run position check to see what fuses have power and which fuses do not in the fuse box behind the gove box. I'm sure the fuse box under the hood is fully powered up but you may want to check there as well. You can then narrow it down as to what all the things that do not work have in common EG. RAP bad ground or power feed I'm sure they are all related in some what shape or form. Good luck :)
