1988 pont bonn. 3.8 i get engine code 22. tps low voltage. replaced the tps, old one was stuck open. now i get code 22 and 2100 rpm`s idle. replaced iac, no help. set pintle at proper distance, drive at 40mph, idle goes up to 2100 rpms. 22 is the only code. thank you

Answer
Hi Leon:

Do you have a scan tool? if so what does the TPS voltage read at idle? These engines should have a low reading of arounf .30-.40 volt at idle. If you do not have a scan tool do you have a volt meter? If so check to make sure you have the 5 volts on one wire and the ground for the sensor on the other. The 3'rd wire on the connector is the siganl back to the engine computer. You'll need a wiring diagarm for this car to tell which wire is which. If you indeed have the 5 volt and gound at the sensor then the issue is with the return wire back to the computer or the computer it's self doesn't see the return signal back. Due to this code setting the engine for some reason is racing at 2100 RPm's. The Iac is not going to be the issue If that were the case I think it would set a code 35? Idle speed code. Good luck :)
