Question
About once a week when I start my car it will idle up then
back down and cut off?

Answer
Hi April:

a few things. I don't know where you live but if you live in a cold climate area this can be an effect of summer/winter blend fules. Also make sure that you are using only 87 octane fuel if this is a non susper charged engine in this car. I would suggest that you have the throttel plate and throttle body bore cleaned out. It gets a build up of carbon and that will cause a lot of wierd idle issues and stalls. Lastly that car has an issue with a ground wire from the battery to the body. That ground connection corrodes and causes all kinds of issues with the car. If none of thse work take it to the dealer and have them check to see in you car has the latest calibaration in the engine computer for a cold start/stall condition.
Good luck :0
