Pontiac Repair: car overheating than stalling out while driving, head gasket problem, electric cooling fan

my 1999 grand am se 6 cyl 3.4 litre will stall out after 10 minutes of driving than i ahve to stop turn it off and let it sit only to drive another 2 minutes before it does it again, i have changed the thermostat but it had no affect the car seemed to do it more, any idea what i need to change?

when the car overheats does the electric cooling fan run on the radaitor? If not then you have to find the root cause of the fan problem. If the a/c on this car still works turn it on and after about a minute the fan should come on if not then ther for sure is an issue with the cooling fan. If the fan runs and it still over heats I'd start looking for an engine mechanical issue like low on coolant or a head gasket problem. Possably a restriction in the air flow across the radaitor??? just a few things to look at. Good luck :)
