Pontiac Repair: transmision swap, bonni, junk yard

I was wondering if a transmision from 89 bonni with a 3800 series 1 fit a 93 olds 88 3800 series 2?

No I don't think so. It will bolt up to the engine okay but I believe that the transmission in the '93 is an electronic controll transmission. The '89 is not and that is a difference. Also the final drive is more that likely different in both of them which is the gear ratio and it will throw off the speedometer. To make sure if I'm right or wrong call a bigger junk yard and they can tell you what year transmissions are interchangeable. Good luck :}
