Pontiac Repair: 1993 Pontaic Bonneville SSEI, coolant temp, engine coolant

Question
Hi
i have a 1993 Pontiac Bonneville SSEI. Most of the time my heater works. but once in a while if the battery goes dead that my heater will not work for a while the blower motor works and air blows out. But some time the heat will not blow out. I heard there is some type of Climate Control Diagnostics  of some type of code but i am not sure. If you could please help me out i would really appreciate it
Thank You

Answer
Hey Ryan:

First and foremost you need to find out why the battery goes dead. Then you can go from there with the Auto climate control. If you have low battery power it can cause the auto climate control to loose it's memory and then it will do all kinds of wierd stuff especially those older units.  If eventually after the battery is charged up the system rights it's sellf I wouldn't worry to much about it I would be more apt to look into wht the battery keeps going dead fisrt then you can look into the HVAC issue is indeed ther is a problem with it. I can tell you if it's acting up turn off the Auto feature and run it on manual setting for the mode and for the heat it will work better especially if it's cold outside. The auot feature will not blow out heat untill the engine coolant temp has reached a certain threshold then it will gradually start to warm up the inside of the car.
