Pontiac Repair: 1998 Firebird Warning lights, dodge dakota sport, brake warning light

Question
Hello Sir.  My lady friend has a 1998 Firebird, V6.  A few weeks ago her "Brake" warning light came on.  She had the brake system checked by our mechanic and everything checked fine.  Today her "Low Trac" light came on and her battery failed (quit taking a charge).  After putting a meter on the battery and alternator, we came to the conclusion that the battery had simply died. (It was the factory battery)  We bought a new battery and that particular prob seems to be cured.  However, the Low Trac light is still on as is the Brake light.

I had a similar prob in a 99 Dodge Dakota Sport and it turned out the prob was with a bad wheel sensor.

The Firebird has 53,000 miles on it and has had regular maintenance.

Any ideas would be most appreciated.  Thank you for your time.

Answer
The lights may have come on due to low system voltage(because of the battery) or because there is a problem with the anti-lock brake system. Either way, there should be some codes stored in one of the modules. If it was because of the battery, the light may go out on its own. Give it a week or so. If the lights are still on, take it in to the shop and have it checked out.
