Porsche Repair: 1980 928 alarm system, porsche 928, luck dave

I just purchased a 1980 Porsche 928. The fuel pump wasn't working so I replaced it. I now have a problem with the alarm system, it won't shut off. I read the owners manual and according to it I need to unlock either of the doors with the black key and it will reset. Well it doesn't and the car won't run with the alarm going off. Do you have a wiring diagram or could you tell me how to by pass the alarm. Thanks

Hi Michael,

Congrats on your new baby.  Unfortunately I have little or no info on the 928's.  Usually I try to see if there is some similarity with the 944's where I do have a bit more information.  In the case of the alarm, I really don't have anything.

These folks have a some information online, like fuse charts, but seem very willing to answer technical questions by e-mail.  Send them your question and see what you get.  And if you get a wiring diagram...you have to share!

Once you get this little annoyance out of the way, I'm sure you'll have great fun with your new toy.  Good luck.
