RV Repair: 87 shasta 27 carpenter ant damage, carpenter ant damage, wall paneling

Question
What is the best way to repair an outside wall and the bunk over the cab.  Is it worth fixing? I already ripped apart the bunk and removed damaged parts and exterminated the ants. I am worried about the exterior walls

Answer
Hi Russ, The Best way is to rebuild the whole upper bunk. I weld a new frame and use top shelf 3/8 plywood. Connect the plywood with a Brisket jointer and wood glue. Install the skin back over the new frame and seal every joint. Insulate with Styrofoam and then reinstall wall paneling. Its a huge job and you are the one who has to decide if its worth it. Good Luck.
