Question -
I bought a used 1995 winnababo vectra. i have never owned one before. I have notices a leak or moisture problem on the floor, It is near the air conditioner under the couch. I can't find any leaks. the carpet is getting wet between the hard wood floors and the carpet. There is also a moistness of the carpet under that couch.

Hi Mike:

Unfortunately, water leaks in rv's are a common occurance, and if not remedied can cause major damage to the structure and interior of the RV, so always keep a close eye on the interior for suspect leaks.

Did you start noticing this water on the floors after starting the air conditioning unit, or was the water on floor before starting the HVAC unit? Is your a/c unit located on the roof or elsewhere? It sounds like the leak may be coming from the condensate from the a/c unit. I will address some remedies, as soon as I know where your hvac unit is located. Also if you have the model number handy, this will help me too.

Answer
Hi Mike:

Yes, I do think you have fixed the problem. That is why I asked if it was on the roof, or elsewhere. Each one has their own specific ways leaks occur inside. Usually whenever the drain tube plugs up, it is because the unit has been ran without an air filer, or poor quality air filter, allowing debris to come in contact with the blower wheels, motor, and cooling coils. When the moisture collects on the cooling coils, some of the very small particles of dust are also washed off the coil and into the drain. It would be well worth you time and energy to remove the panels and clean the blower wheels, coils, drain pain etc. while being careful not to allow any moisture to come in contact with the fan motor, otherwise failure usually results.

If I can further assist you, please let me know.
