RV Repair: 2002 Mallard a/c, burner flame, rooftop unit

Question
Hello Larry,

I have a 2002 mallard 27' bumperpull RV that when i was about to leave the lake the a/c just quit working I have moved about 100 miles from there and forgot to get it checked out.  there was no problems or noises before it happened it has a roof a/c unit.  any suggestions also i dont think the bottom of the fridge unit is not cooling properly. thanks for your time.

Answer
Hi Dewayne:

First of all, I need more information about the A/C unit. Have you checked the breakers to find out if one may have tripped. If tripped, reset it and observe for proper operation. If it was not the breaker, you will need to measure the voltage coming into the unit to be sure power is available to the rooftop unit. Then turn on the unit, checking to find out if the compressor or fan motor will come on. Please let me know what you find out about these questions and reccomendations.

I need to know the model number of your a/c, and the model number for your refrigerator. DeWayne, with the model numbers it will make it easier to assit you. If your running the ref. on gas, be sure too look at the burner flame, making sure the flame is nice and blue. Also check to be sure nothing is obstructing the air flow to the coils on the rear of the regrigerator coils. Im sure you have already checked the temperature setting to be sure it is set low enough. Many times someone, other than the owner will change the setting without telling the owner.
