RV Repair: dometic 2-way fridge, refrigerator compartment, heater element

Question
I have a Dometic 2-way fridge, model 3662, that when I tried to run it about a month ago would trip out the circuit breaker (GFI) the camper was plugged into when trying to run on AC power, and then switch to gas and operate. It did finally start to work properly on AC power the next time I tried it,that is the freezer would get cold down to 0 degrees, but the fins in the refrigerator were only cool to the touch with a temp. of between 40-60 degrees in the refrigerator compartment. What do you think is wrong with the fridge? I was thinking that there possibly was a short in the AC heater element, but after it started working again I'm at a loss, especially when the freezer works fine but the fridge compartment does'nt. They both operate off of the same system, right? Any help would be greatly appreciated!  Tom

Answer
The GFI problem could be related to where you were plugged in.  If the ground and/ or the neutral is defective, the GFI would trip, but all else would still work.

If the refer is not cooling properly, check the gaskets on the door.  If you place a dollar bill between the gasket and the box, and close the door, you shouldn't be able to pull the bill out with out feeling friction.
