RV Repair: water damage repair, water damage repair, truck camper

Question
Hi Bill,
I own a 1993 Northland 8'6" Polar Truck Camper.  It had a leak for quite awhile and now the damage needs attention.  It has a rubber roof which I am going to replace and I will repair the water damage at that time as well.  I need to repair one ceiling panel that has a soft spot and one section of interior wall panel behind a cabinet.  My questions are: Which is the best way to replace a damaged ceiling panel without removing the entire roof?  Which is the best way to replace a wall panel behind a cabinet.  The wall panel is pine panel typical of Northland at the time, the ceiling panel is white RV panel and the cabinets are pine panel attached to wood frame beneath, which was assembled in sequence it looks like.  Other than this damage the unit is in great condition and is worthy of repair.

Answer
Hi:
The work you are proposing to do is time consuming, sometimes difficult and frustrating. There are no easy ways to fix this kind of damage. When I do this it is always just grunt type of work. You pull things off, dig, scrape and do whatever it takes to make it look right. Like you found things are assembled in sequence to make the construction easier they did not ever consider repair. Sorry I have no easy answer for you. Case of beer or a good bottle of wine helps a lot. Good luck.
Bill
