RV Repair: Relocating LP Tanks, lp tanks, happy camping

Question
I have a 1994 Prowler 30R, and I'm thinking about building a compartment in the door side, just being the wheels to relocate my LP tanks so I can put a small generator on the tongue of my trailer. The compartment will be sealed off to the inside with a vented door and properly plumbed.
Then I plan to put a 4000 watt generator on the tongue fastened properly. The generator weight will be 160 lbs.
Does this sound like a workable idea, and do you have any suggestions.

Thanks

Answer
Rolf,
Yes, this sounds like a very workable idea that you have put a lot of thought into.  Putting the LP tanks behind the wheels will help offset the extra tongue weight from the generator.  Just make sure and do a leak test of the LP system when you are done to make sure you don't have any small leaks.  Also, try to route the exhaust to the off door side so you aren't trapping it with the awning.  Good luck and happy camping.
