RV Repair: Hot Water tank repair, hot water tank, hot water heater

Hi, I have a 6 gal Atwood hot water heater. I have about a inch and a half slpit along the seam of the tank. I know that the tank can be replaced but can it be welded since its such a small tear?

     Yes, your tank can be welded.  All you need to do is pull the water heater out and call around to find someone who can weld aluminum.  They will have to make the final determination of whether yours is repairable, but it sounds very likely that it is by your description.  Good luck and happy camping.
