Saturn Repair: saturn fuel pump, fuel tank, fuel pump

Question
I have a 97 SL1 which I believe will need a fuel pump asap.  Is it hard to replace and where is it?

Answer
The fuel pump is inside of the fuel tank. Replacing it involves removing the fuel tank from the vehicle. It is a time consuming project and requires draining of the fuel tank. Replacement of the strainer and fuel filter at the same time is recommended.
