Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Craftsman 9.0 snowblower model # 247.888530, snow blowers, gasoline additive

Question
My snowblower with Tecumseh engine 9.0 will not keep running after I have been working. Also it will barely start when it is below 20 degrees with the pull or electric. I have messed with the bottom nut on the bottom of the float case because someone told me to do that. When it is above 30 it starts fine and runs when I am not trying to move snow. Also when I prime it gas runs out of the carb. What can I do?

Sounds like the gas running out is in the float,it may be sticking this is a common problem with snow blowers as they do not get used enough.Having carburetor problems will also give you problems in colder weather as  your engine needs to be choked so more fuel can go in the engine,if your carburetor is not doing its job then it needs the following. You may have to remove the carburetor and clean it and rebuild it with some new parts (gaskets,Float Needle) what you have....a gummed up carburetor....You can probably get by with cleaning it but it must be removed and taken apart....if you are not comfortable doing this, take it to a reputable shop....When you get it back ad a gasoline additive called STABIL to your fuel cans and put it in everything that runs on gas and cranks them up and let them run for 5-10 minutes....this stuff will keep gasoline good for between 1&2 years....gas today starts going bad after 30 to 60 days...Good Luck
