Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Snapper model HZS1848ZBVE, snapper mower, control cables

Question
I have the above mentioned snapper mower.  It will not turn right.  When you push the joystick forward it will drift to the left. and when the joystick is moved right it will whine and maybe move a few inches then stop.  Any ideas. Thanks.

Hydro transaxles are sealed units and not intended to be "serviced".  The repair manual states to remove and replace a malfunctioning transaxle.  Send the broke unit in for overhaul.

TRANSAXLE, Hydro L.H., Snapper 7029128
((Eaton Model X778-005))

TRANSAXLE, Hydro w/o Manifold R.H., Snapper 7029129
((Eaton Model X778-011))

The right and left hand control cables are adjustable.  Have you checked the cables to make sure one is not broke on needs adjusting?  The brake rod is also adjustable on one end.

The whining may be an indicator of a more serious problem but I would check all the cables and adjustments first.

Let me know what you find.
