Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): No Spark, briggs and stratton, craftsman model

Question
I have a Briggs and Stratton 28D707 Type 002501 11Hp motor. It is on a Craftsman model 917.254230 mower that is in great shap and well maintained. After using it and working fine it was put away. Next time I went to use it, it would not start. After checking for spark by removing the plug and holding it aganist the frame, I changed the plug. Still no spark. I have isolated the engine by removing the small black wire that goes to the coil which I believe grounds out the coil and stops the engine. Still no spark. I replaced the coil and set the gap between flywheel and coil, still no spark. Whats next? Hope you can help, thanks.

Have you checked to make sure the engine timing is correct. The amount of clearance between the flywheel magnets and the ignition armature. The ignition armature is also referred to as ignition module, coil, laminate, magneto. Most problems of having no spark is because the timing may be off not letting the coil and the ignition to fire at the correct time. Also make sure that the gap between the coil is set to L-Head Aluminum/Cast Sleeve Single Cylinder   .010 / .014 Armature Air Gap ( in. ).Also you may want to check the valve clearance.Intake Valve Clearance .005 / .007 in
