Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Honda GX390, honda engine, pressure washer

Question
Hi John,
I Have a Honda GX390 Serial # GCAKT1427916 TYPE QAA2 that is used on a pressure washer.  I need to adapt this pressure washer pump and engine to a steam cleaner that the engine and pump were stolen off of.  I need to retrofit the GX390 with a Charge coil capable of 15 amps or more to run the pump and fan on the steam cleaner. I know I need a new flywheel and coil but which ones?  There are untapped mounting bosses under the existing flywheel I think I can mount the coil to.  I am assuming all of the GX390 case where the same as this one has an un-machined place for a starter.  Any advice would be much appreciated.  Thanks

Answer
Hello Mike:

>>You are Correct, the Untapped Mounting Bosses Under the Flywheel are for Mounting Different Amp Stators Depending on the Application of the Engine.
>>I Suggest you take your Engine Information to your Local Honda Engine Dealer and have them Order the Correct AMP Rectifier/Stator/Charging Coil and Regulator (if Required) for this Engine.
>>I have Changed Many of the Rectifiers/Stators/Charging Coils on these Engines and have Found that the Local Dealer has Less Trouble getting the Correct AMP Replacement than even I have.
>>If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Have a Happy Holiday Season and May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Be Safe and Happy. Thanks.

Good Luck
