Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): not charging, 4 stroke engines, regulator breakdown

Question
my 27hp kawasaki liquid cooled (FD750DBS03) motor is not charging. I've been trikle charging the battery with a charger. I've recently burned up two coils (both on the left side). is this due to the non charging while running. any help would be appreciated, thanks, Lee

If your battery is low then the engine is using power from the charging wires thus putting a strain on the coils as these coils need 12 VDC to fire the spark plugs.Check the battery charge rectifier or the voltage regulator.

You can View a Breakdown of the Engine at this Site Addy; http://www.buykawpower.com/kmcb2c/main.jsp and Select View Parts Catalog. Then Select 4 Stroke Engines. Then Select the Engine Model FD750DBS03. Then Select the Electric-Equipment File. Check the Voltage Going to the Voltage Regulator (Breakdown # 21066) First. Usually the Regulator is the Cause for Not Charging. The Stand Alone Stator/Charging Coil Rarely Goes Bad.
