Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Fuel feed to chainsaw motor, air fuel mixture, fuel air mixture

Question
Good Morning.  I have a MAC3516 chainsaw which refuses to start.  My question concerns the fuel flow.  The primer bulb is always half full of fuel and the other half air.  When I press the bulb in air and fuel are ejected to the tank and on release air and fuel are drawn from the carb.  I would like to know if this air/fuel mixture from the carb is correct or is there an air leak somewhere in the carb. which I need to address.
Any suggestions would be welcome.
Thanks
Dave

Answer
your primer bulb is only bringing fuel to the carb.  The "Fuel/AIR" mixture is when the unit is running.  Make sure you have spark at the spark plug, spray a lil carb cleaner into the carb and try to start the saw...Does it start?  If so you have a fuel problem and need to address it, ie dirty fuel filter, collapsed fuel line, etc...

Remember ..you need Fuel, Spark and Compression to make an engine run.

Hope this helps...
