Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Kohler CV490S Starter, starter wire, positive cable

Question
I have a Kohler CV490S engine and I have to replace the starter.
Iam just trying to save a few bucks,or is it worth it. How hard is this to replace?

Answer
Hello Harry:

>>You can View a Breakdown of the Engine at this Site Addy; http://www.kohlerplus.com/login.asp and Select Enter as Guest. Now Select the Thumbnail of the Engine Catalog you Wish to View.
>>Remove the 2 Screws that Hold the Starter Drive Cover onto the Blower Housing (Metal engine cover).
>>Now Remove the Battery Positive Cable from the Battery Post.
>>Remove the Starter Wire from the Starter.
>>Remove the Starter Mounting Bolts.
>>The Starter is Now Removed from the Engine.
>>Only you can Determine if this is Worth the Expense or Not.
>>If the Engine is in Good Running Condition and the Unit the Engine is Powering is Good, then Most Likely Replacing the Starter is Worth it.
>>If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Be Safe and Happy. Thanks.

Good Luck
