Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Unknown engine brand of new craftsman snowthrower., craftsman snow thrower, chinese engines

Hello,
I recently purchased a new professional series Craftsman snow thrower.(model 88830)  I like the machine, but I can't seem to figure out who makes the engine for it.  It is 357cc OHV engine, and seems to be appearing on many of the MTD made snow throwers(Troy Built, Cub Cadet, MTD)  I was wondering if you could help me figure out who makes the engine and if it is a dependable model?  I very much appreciate the help.  Thanks

I would need to see a picture of the engine to tell you who the exact engine manufacturer is.  I looked at the snow blower online and all i can tell you for sure is it is a Chinese Engine.  I would speculate an LCT engine.  LCT has has most if not all of the Sears business when it comes to the Chinese engines they put on them.  LCT is one of the preferred Chinese engines in my book.  They have USA presence.

The engines that MTD is using are coming out of a different factory in China then LCT.
