Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Electrical specs on Craftsman LT 1000, electrical specs, safety switches

Question
Jason,
friend is working on a Craftsman LT 1000 riding mower. The model number is CV490S and the Spec # is 27508. It starts fine and runs well up to a certain point. He believes it is in one of the switches, but this model has wiring that goes from a main cluster to several relays. There seems to be a short somewhere that keeps cutting the engine off. Is that so, or is there a problem with the coil. Do you know how or where to get the electrical specs to diagram the wiring?

Answer
I just did a job on one of these and had to follow all the wires to the safety switches because I could not find a diagram for it? You have a switch at the seat, brake, and deck. Also there should be a wire going the carburetor and if that has a short it could cut the engine off for gas?Best of luck,Jason
