I took air filter off carburetor I  get it to start every time  by spraying starting fluid but it shuts right off. The float seems to be working and it has plenty of gas in the bowl. What are the other things I need to check?

Hi Jim
 It sounds like to me that you have a stopped up jet in the carb.Try blowing out all the jets. Be sure and get the jets that are on the filter side of the carb opening. There will be 2 or 3 of them.
That should take care of the problem. Let me know if it doesn't.
