Motor starts rough then smooths out after awhile, then shears key. Has done this twice(2).

Hi Scooter, what type of engine, usually this means the blade is loose causing the engine inertia to cause backlash shearing key. However if this is not the case, when you replaced the key originally the flywheel was not torqued correctly causing the inertia to shear the key on slowdown.
