Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): 265 lawn tractor, kawasakiFC540

I have owned this tractor since 1990.It ran fine until last year,I now have to use starter fluid to start it. It also smokes and uses oil. I checked the compression and its 150psi. Also where can I get parts for the Kawasaki FC540V-DSOO engine? THANKS

Have you done any work on the engine?  What color is the smoke and how much oil is it using?  Does it seem to have less power than before?  ABout how many hours does it have on it?
