Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): CRAFTSMAN BRIGGS AND STRATTON 19HP I/C PLATINUM ENGINE, engine model type, briggs and stratton

Question
Hi, I have a Craftsman 42" lawn tractor with a Briggs and Stratton 19hp I/C platinum turbocool engine. When I start it up it starts fine, then starts sputtering and blowing gas out of the top of the carburetor out of one of two small metal pipes that one seems to connect to the fuel hose and the other appeared to be some kind of breather tube since no hose was connected to it. This happens whether I start in full choke or almost no choke. What can I do?

Answer
Have you ever cleaned a carburetor?  Sounds like the carb has an air passage blockage.

Send me the engine model, type and code number so I can look up your carb.  The link below will tell you how to locate the engine information.
