Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): HONDA HRA-214, arinet, american honda

My Honda HRA-214 mower ran fine then after 3 month it did not start and was very hard to pull. Before it started first time easy pull. Tried new plug but seems like no spark. Why so hard to pull now? Please give your advice. Thank you.
