Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): chainsaw, needle valve, check valve

Question
hi i have a craftsman chain saw that would not start,so after inspecting it found fuel line has dissolved in fuel tank. so i replaced all of the fuel lines and now the primer bulb stays in the push in position. tried it with filter both on and off. rechecked for kinked lines, everything looks fine, and i can blow air through the filter. i just can not get fuel to engine. any suggestions?  the model # is 358.351180 42cc    thanks

Answer
Hello Tom:

Poulan Makes Most of the Craftsman/Sears Chainsaws. Sears No Longer Supports this Product for Parts. I will Try to Locate the OEMs Model Number and a Breakdown for this Unit if I Possibly can. However, Until then, Disconnect Both Lines to the Primer Bulb. If the Bulb Operates Correctly, then the Carburetor Requires Soaking and Cleaning. Depending on the Carburetors OEM, there May be a Check Valve Inside the Carburetor that is Stuck/Frozen or the Carburetor Metering Needle Valve is Stuck/Frozen. If the Bulb Does Not Operate Correctly with the Lines Disconnected, then the Bulb Assy has a Check Valve and the Bulb Requires Cleaning or Replacing. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please.
