Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Transaxel, punch marks, transaxle

Question
While inspecting a Peerless transaxel Model # 915-020 the reverse idler gear fell out. Gear appears to fit any way as it just sits on two other gears and is driven by the pulley but there are two punch marks on one side of the gear similar to timing marks. I checked the two gears that this gear rides on but I do not find any like punch marks. Is this gear supposed to go in a certain way? Thanks for the help.

Answer
Hello Donald:

There is No Timing for this Gear. Install it and Assemble the Transaxle. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of this Engine at this Site Addy, http://www.outdoordistributors.com/ and Select the P. Then Select Peerless. Then Select To View Parts List Click Here in the Upper Right of the Page. Then Select the Series Transaxle. Then Select the Transaxle File for your Transaxle. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.

Good Luck
