Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Engine rewiring, john deere l120, starter solenoid

Replaced 20hp twin v briggs on an early John Deere L120 with a Kohler Command v twin model #CV23S. Tractor has starter solenoid under dash but new Kohler has starter solenoid on starter. Tractor plug has 4 wires in it and motor plug has 8 wires in it including one to solenoid. Can you help me rewire this? THANKS

Sorry it took so long to respond, I’m in the process of moving and just got internet.  JD and Kohler are very stingy with their information.

Also, send me the Briggs engine model and type number so I can look up the engine.

How many wires are on the new Kohler engine solenoid?  One or two small wires?
