Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Drive cable replacement, cable replacement, drive cable

Question
I have a troy-bilt model 830 Self powered lawn mower Model 12av839n711. It came with the wrong drive control cable. They replaced under warranty. Also there was some small guide that was replaced. Now I think the drive cable broke or came lose in the mower body.Is there a simple way to get to the cable joint.? A few bolts to remove if you know the secret? Some way to get to a repair manual on the internet.  I have some skills. Don't want to have to drive 50 mitles to get the cable replaced. If I can do it fairly simply. Looks like I will have to do it maybe once a year. Thanks for any help

Answer
Hello Dick:

The Cable Replacement is Fairly Simple. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of this Unit at this Site Addy, http://www.buymtdonline.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Home_TroyBilt_10101_19502_... and Select Use Our Detailed Parts Finder. Select the OEM. Then Enter the Model Numbers (12av839n711). You can Use the Breakdown for a Reference to Disassemble and Assemble the Mower. Remove the Spark Plug and Tilt the Mower so the Spark Plug Hole is Pointing Up. Now Remove the Drive Cover Bolts. Now you can See and Make the Proper Repairs to the Drive System. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.

Good Luck
