Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Snapper Hydro Transmission slip, snapper dealer, drive belts

Question
I have a 5 year old snapper ride-on (LT150H331BV - p/n 84899) with Hydro transmission and the reverse has slowly been reducing its power/speed for the past few years.  Now it bearly crawls on level ground.  Is there an adjustment/fluid check or has something just worn out??

Answer
Hello Roger:

Has the Drive Belt been Replaced? The Drive Belts on Hydro Transaxles Do Not Usually Squeal or Make Any Noise when the Slip. I have 2 Hydros and they Both have the Same Problem you Described when the Drive Belt Requires Replacing. I Usually Change the Belt at the First Sign of the Mower Moving Slower than Normal. Make Sure the Hydro Housing is Clean and the Cooling Fan ii Not Missing Any Fins. You can View a Breakdown of the Mower at this Site Addy; http://www.snapper.com/manuals/ Select your Model from the List in the Model/Part Numbers Section. Select Parts Manual from the Manual Type Section and Click Find Manuals. Now Download the Manual (Click on the Manual Number) for your Unit from the List Provided. According to the Breakdown, this Hydro has a Reservoir. The Reservoir is Shown on Page 30 of 76 in the Parts Breakdown Manual #06450 that I Directed you to Earlier. I Suggest you Purchase the Hydro Oil from a Snapper Dealer if Any is Required. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.

Good Luck
