Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Lawn Chief rider mower, pulley bolt, drive belts

Question
I have a Lawn Chief 400, 11HP, Ser. #211-36-VO. The drive belt to the
transmission is very loose even when in drive. Tractor will not move forward or
reverse. There is no tension on belts at any point. FYI - Mower is removed and it
is strictly used as a yard utility tractor.

Answer
Did you replace the belt?  Is the idler pulley, the pulley that moves when you push in the clutch, bad?   Is the main engine pulley bolt tight?

Usually most idler pulley bolts can be loosened and then you can slide the pulley to adjust the belt tension.
Is there one or two drive belts on your tractor?
Let me know.
