Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): John Deere Stx38 - Battery Charging, john deere stx38, stator

Question
I just replaced the flywheel, stator, and regulator. Everything starts and runs great. The one problem is that the voltage is only 12.5 when running, it is not jumping up, so the battery will charge when running. The highest it got was 12.7  . Is there something else to check in order for voltage to raise so my battery wont die after time.

Answer
Hello Chris:

Is the New Stator Charging at 15 AMPs? Check the Amperage without the Regulator. What is the Stator Voltage going to the Regulator? New Part Do Not Mean that the Parts are Good. It Just Means they have Never Been Used. The New Parts can be Bad. Are All the Connections Clean and Free of Rust and Corrosion? You can View a Breakdown/IPL of the Engine and Mower at this Site Addy, http://jdpc.deere.com/jdpc/servlet/com.deere.u90490.partscatalog.view.servlets.H... and Enter the Model Numbers (STX38)  and Click Find. Then Select your Model from the Search Results Area. Then Select the Sectional File. Then Select the Section of the Mower you Wish to View Online. Thanks.
