Question
HI JOHN i have a old turf trac lawn tractor it had a12hp brigggs ijust bot a 16.5 ohv briggs wiring isuse it has a org wire for charging bat new motor has red and orange ?do i hook the org wire to old org or to red on motor and what do i hook grey wire from carb to ground or positive

Answer
Hello Bil:

Send me the Model Numbers Off of Both Engines, Please. With these I can Locate the Proper Manuals and Better Assist you. However, it Sounds like the Old Engine has the Dual Circuit Stator and the New Engine has the 16AMP Stator. If the Solenoid has a Single Wire, then it is a Hot Wire and is Attached to the Ign Switch so there is Power to the Solenoid when the Ign Switch is Turned to the Run and Start Position. The Stator Wire May be Attached to a Regulator or Not Depending on the Engine Model. If No Regulator is Required, then the Stator Wire is Usually Attached to the Corresponding Color Wire. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.

Good Luck
