Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Kohler 25 hp cv730, e mail system, valve clearances

Question
I have a Cub Cadet with a cv730 in it. I have read alot of horror stories about this motor. Headgasket issues. I understand Kohler fixed this issue with a different head. I was wondering when did they do this? My engine was manufactured 4-05. any help is great!

Hello Brad:

I do Not have the Recall Notices at Home with me. However, I will Check the Recall Notices on Monday and then Follow up to you. I have Heard the Horror Stories, but I have had No Dealings with this Problem. The Only Problem I am Aware of is an Issue with having to Set the Valve Clearance Fairly Often Unless you Apply Thread Loc to the Valve Adjuster Lock Threads Once the Valve Clearances are Reset. I Saw your Comments and Ratings. Thanks for the Birthday Wishes. I have had the Information but was Unable to Locate your E-Mail to Follow Up. The Design of the E-Mail System is Not Really Designed for the Experts to Follow Up to the Questioner as Easy as the Questioner to Follow up to the Expert. Sorry for the Delay. The Kohler Problem you are Referring to was Corrected in 2002 and All the Kohler Engines Manufactured After June 2002 have the Redesigned Head.
