Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Changing Piston Rings, welder generator, piston rings

Question
Hi,  I have a Briggs 8HP welder/generator.  Model # 192432-1136E1.  I have the full breakdown of the engine on pdf, but I am wonder, how do I change the piston rings?  I have never taken a small engine apart, but I did take the head off the other day, and it is obvious oil is leaking into the chamber.  The piston brings up a little bit of oil in every stroke.

Anyw advice on taking the engine apart and getting to the piston would be appreciated.

To remove the piston rings is not that hard just unbolt the head and then remove the head and the rings will slip out. Now to reinstall them you will need to get a piston ring compression tool. You may be able to take this to a shop and have them do it for you or you can purchase a tool.
