Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Kawasaki Engine Swap in John Deere, john deere dealer, small engine warehouse

Question
Replace a siezed Kawasaki FD590V-BS04 engine in my Deere 345 with an FD611V-DS00, purchased from Small Engine Warehouse (not from Deere). All connections hooked up great, and it runs terrific, but it does not charge.  Took it to a John Deere dealer and was told the new engine does not have electrical components made to JD specs, but to regular Kawasaki specs.  The tech said it needs a new stator, ignitor, and voltage regulator to have the unit charge properly - cost, parts and labor, $900!  I could put the parts on myself, but the parts are about half the cost.

Any suggestions here?

Answer
Hello Neil:

The Components from the Old Engine will Transfer (fit) to your New Engine. Change the Stator, Regulator, Ignitor from your Old Engine to the New One if they were Operating Properly when the Old Engine Siezed. You can View a Breakdown of the Engine at this Site Addy; http://www.gardenland.com/ and Select Kawasaki Under the Look Up Parts on the Left of the Page. Then Fill Out the Form to get to the Breakdown. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.

Good Luck
