Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Carb Relacement, external fuel tank, question pool

Question
QUESTION: 1985? Kawasaki FA210D-084526 (mod /ser)5.0 HP  QUESTION is ... This engine came on a Dayton (Graingers) Generator and uses a PULSE type carb. I want to replace it with a FLOAT type carb so an external fuel tank for longer running time can be achieved. Got any idea if this is possible? Where I might get a carb for it?

ANSWER: Hello Rick:

Sorry for the Delay. This Question was Located in the Question Pool. The Fuel Supply Does Not Affect the Carburetor Type. The Pulse Style Carburetor can be Used with an External and Larger Fuel Supply. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. QUESTION: THANK YOU ! This is great news except the fuel tank takes up the space the float bowl would normally be - I don't understand how a connection to an external fuel tank is possible. The larger tank would be located above the engine and there is no apparent way to connect a fuel line to the carb body.

Answer
Hello Again Rick:

OK. You have the Tank Mounted Carburetor on this Unit. The Float Style Carburetor for this Engine is a Kawasaki PN 15003-2070. You Will Require the Intake Tube and Gaskets Also. You can View a Breakdown of the Engine at this Site Addy; http://www.buykawpower.com/kmcb2c/main.jsp and Select View Parts Catalog. Now Select 4 Cycle Engines. Then Select the FA210D-M81 Engine. Then Select the Carburetor File. I Spoke with the Kawasaki Tech Support Rep and was Told; Any of the Carburetors that are Listed for the FA210D Engine will Fit this Engine, Provided it has the Proper Intake and the Area where the Carburetor is Mounted has the Room for the Carburetor Bowl. The Carburetor on your Engine Now is Shown in the FA210-S06 Engine File. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.
