Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): honda tractor 2113, arinet, american honda

Question
got a question, I have honda 2113 tractor. about 5 years old. last year started having a problem. Starts fine, runs fine but after 45 minutes or so, suddenly dies and won't start again until its cooled off. later that day, starts fine and does the same thing. seems like the hotter the weather, the faster it would die. sometimes would backfire when it died. could this be an ignition problem? Thanks for any suggestions!

Answer
Hello Gerald:

This is Usually Caused by 1 of 2 Things. 1- the Ign Module/Igniter/Ign Coil is Breaking Down and Stops Firing the Plug/Plugs. Operate the Engine Until it Quits and then Immediately Check for Fire at the Plug/Plugs. If No Fire, then the Ign Module/Igniter/Ign Coil is Bad. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of the Mower/Engine at this Site Addy, http://hayward.arinet.com/scripts/EmpartISAPI.dll?MF&app=ASP&lang=EN&TF=Mainfram... and Select the Catalog American Honda. 2- a BAd Gas Cap. If the Cap is Not Venting the Tank Properly; a Vaccum Builds in the Tank and Prevents the Gas from Flowing Out of the Tank to the Carburetor. I Suggest in your Case you Check the Ign Coil First. It is the Most Common Cause of this Problem. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem,  I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please.
