Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Snow thrower, craftsman snow thrower, worm gear

Hello I need some advice on how to remove the auger
an my craftsman snow thrower. model# 31ae5htg799
sears# 247.887900.
I can't figure how to get the worme shaft out of the gear
box.

Do you have the gear box dis-assembled?  The worm gear is cut in the main shaft so you have to dis-assemble the gear box, remove the main shaft with the worm gear cut on the shaft.
Sometimes it is cheaper and faster to replace the entire gear box, $154.06 from Sears.com.

Did the gear box seize?
