Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): stihl 028 chainsaw, exhaust port, carbon deposits


Question
my cahainsaw would not run well so i got a carburtor kit
kit but i have dificulty in getting to the tiny filtor  
as i cant get the tiny lid off that covers it
the carburetor is an RK-15-HU.
when i run it, as it is without changing the filtor, it
runs but will idle, and somtimes it goes flat out
and i have to turn off.  May i have your coments.

Hello Gerry:

Remove the Muffler and Ensure the Exhaust Port and Muffler are Clear of Carbon Blockage. Carbon Builds Up in the Muffler and Exhaust Port and Causes the Problem you Described. Also, While the Muffler is Off, Turn the Engine By Hand and Look Into the Exhaust Port. You can See the Piston. When the Piston has Moved so you can See the Top of the Piston, then Check the Piston Top and Clean Off Any Carbon Deposits that are on it. Can you Send me the OEM of the Carburetor, Please.
